Hi, I'm c/PO2 Van, I am a sophomore and this is my second year in the unit. I'm the Honor Guard Commanding Officer and XO of Academic Team. I like to play sports, guitar, and hang out with friends. I joined NJROTC because I wanted to try something new and I heard that NJROTC was fun so I decided to try it out. I was on DTWA my freshman year and on all the secondary teams. At first I joined all these teams just to get the ribbons and to make my uniform look better. But after going to all the events, I found it to be fun and memorable. I recieved 2 medals from Academic Team, Confidence + strength mentally and physically from PT team and DTWA, and fun memories of getting lost in Orienteering. After high school I plan to go to Annapolis or some University with an ROTC program and become a pilot.
